Intro to Playwriting Concepts: A Dramaturgical Approach is a two-day workshop designed to offer writers who are new to the craft of playwriting an introduction to the NJPL approach to new play development.
This workshop includes an overview as well as active application of foundational dramaturgical language and concepts that will set up beginner playwrights for maximum success in our PlayGym Forums. We recommend that writers who are new to the craft of playwriting take this two-day workshop prior to registering for a PlayGym session. We also recommend this workshop for emerging dramaturgs, and actors and directors interested in creating and developing new work for the stage.
Please note if a playwright is interested in this workshop, but prefers a one-on-one situation, a custom made script consultancy can be arranged. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Intro to Playwriting Concepts: A Dramaturgical Approach is offered two times per calendar year, once in the winter and once in the early summer. The workshop takes place on either two consecutive Saturdays or two consecutive Sundays. Each session is 2-3 hours in length. Exact dates and times will be announced with registration.
Please check back in Fall ’22 for further information and registration.
